Saving to SQL database produces whitespaces in string fields

I have my form set up to automatically submit and retrieve data without any
code. I have noticed that when I retrieve my data the text fields are coming
back with whitespaces.

Can I get rid of them without code? If not, could someone please post some
sample code I could use for either saving the data without whitespaces or
retrieving the data without whitespaces.
