i am about to install a larger hard disc in my PC.

I have OFFICE 2003.

what office down loads should i save to a CD rom prior to installing the new
hard disc.

Uninstall Office from this drive and reinstall Office on your new hard disk,
then go get your updates at Office Update.

It's very difficult to transfer installation and patches from one drive to
another.

You'll want to make sure that you move all your documents from My Documents
(or wherever they are located), but to restore Office, I'd recommend a clean
installation.

thank you for your quick responce susan,
i did say that i was going to have a new hard disc , so this would be a
clean instalation. what i was trying to do is down load the updates since sp2
on to a cd rom. my question was what updates should i download

Some people try to copy over their files to new discs using system restore,
or other methods, so I wanted to make sure you weren't going to do that.

Is there a reason you wouldn't want to use the internet (Office Update) to
detect and install the updates you need, rather than having them on a
CD-ROM?

This page shows all the updates that are available for Office 2003:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010798601033.aspx?iStartAt=1

If you go to the second page, you will see SP2. Anything dated since then
are recommended updates not included in SP2, and you would want to consider
having them.

no i am not going to use system restore. my main consideration is to lessen
the chance of attack whilst i am updating my new system. i shall now visit
the page that shows all updates that are available for Office 2003.

Thank you for all your help with this.

on a separate issue why dont microsoft bundle this for download as they have
done with sp2

They probably will roll them into a new SP if they release a new SP in the
future. That's often what happens--

Good luck!
