Any computer purchase after the end of the Stone Age
should have Acrobat Reader installed. Anyone with internet
access can download a current version of reader, free;
however in interest of backward compatiblity, if you set
Distiller to save the PDF in version 4 format, you should
have no problems.

In my experience, PDF is the best way to distribute any
document that you want others to be able to read, not edit
(at least, not without special tools).

I would like to be ablle to email Ghant Chart and Calendar
views to users that do not all have MS Project installed;
additionally, since I am not sure if they can all
read .pdf files, I have been trying to save the images
into Excel:

after selecting the Ghant chart, I used the camera icon
to copy the picture; then selected "To Gif image file".
From there, I select all, copy and then paste special (as
HTML) into a new Excel document....
At this point, I have an Excel file that can be edited.
However, rather than having to edit (repeated end of page
lines, non existant legend), isn't there a simpler way?
Is it possible to save in Excel the exact format of the
information that prints from MS Project?
