Saving Word 2002 document onto a WinNT Server

I have a few new computers here at work running Office XP.
We save our work file onto an NT Server. For some reason
whenevery I create a new Document in Word2002 (Off-XP)
save it and then go back in to edit it and then try to
save it again I get a "File Permission Error".

I've tried deleting the from from the NT Server and I'm
unable to delete it. It seems the properties for the file
has change and now I'm stuck with the file and I can't
delete it even while logged in as an Admin.

I went to Microsoft's Web site and found "Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article - 311153" which recommends a few
resolutions one being "Turn off the Index Server". It
also recommend running an update for Office XP Service
Pack 2 which I've done but that does not seem to solve the
problem.

Has anyone come across this problem before, if so please
help...

Hi Marty,

I'm not a networking expert, but from what I do know, it
sounds like the problem could be in the permissions at the NT
end. Word generates so-called "temp files" when you work on a
document. When a file is closed, these should be deleted; if
they're not, Word may think the file is still being worked
on, and block it. This is just a guess, mind you. You might
have better luck asking in the word.setup.networking group.
