Saving Word Document to CD (D Drive)

E

Eileen

When I save a Word doc to my D Drive on a CD it turns it into a "read only
file," even though it was never created as a read only. Can anyone help?

CD is a read only medium. Copy the files back to the hard drive and from
Windows Explorer right click and deselect the read only property attribute
before opening again in Word. Never ever save directly to CD (even if you
have software that allows you to do so. It is one of the most popular
methods of corrupting documents). ALWAYS copy to and from removable media
and work from the hard drive.
