Saving Word documents with or without tables

When I open an existing
folder and try to start a new Word Doc WITH or WITHOUT tables the following
dialogue appears. THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS FORMATTING THAT CANNOT BE SAVED IN
TEXT FORMAT.. DO YOU WANT TO SAVE THE CHANGES TO NEW MICROSOFT WORD
DOCUMENT. If I click Yes U then get another dialogue as follows. THIS
DOCUMENT CONTAINS FORMATTING WHICH WILL BE LOST UPON CONVERSIONTO TEXT
ONLYFORMAT. TO PRESERVE THE INITIAL DOCUMENT CLICK NO TO EXIT THIS
DIALOGUE., THEN SAVE THE DOCUMENT IN WORD FORMAT BEFORE CONVERTING. It then
returns to the first dialogue.Help!

1) lose all the caps, it's difficult and time consuming to read and doesn't
add anything.
2) can you save as a word document? If you save as text, that's exactly what
you get, text.

It's a MACRO virus/worm. What av software do you have? I
know Norton and McAfee will check for word macro viruses,
not sure about others.

You might try this over at alt.comp.anti-virus or ask an av
company directly.
Right now, I'd suggest:
-- Visit Norton - read/search for macro virus and removal.
-- Get av software that can watch for this stuff.

Sorry about the previous text, it was a fellow colleague
who wrote it. As soon as the user clicks either on the save
option in the file menu, save as option or the save icon on
the toolbar, she get the same message to save as text and
cannot be saved as a word document. Any ideas?
