sbcmsync.dll

Using Outlook 2003 with Win XP Pro. Keep getting error
about invalid addin.

Previously used Win ME & Office 2000 PRO - full
installation.

Upgrading to Win XP, used 'files & settings transfer
wizard' to backup all docs & settings, including e-mail
settings & folders from outlook.

Formatted hard disk, installed Win XP pro from scratch.
Installed Office 2003 Pro. Restored files & settings.
Now get error on starting Outlook 2003.

Can't find sbcmsync.dll or extend.dat on hard disk.
No mention of sbcmsync in addin manager.

Any suggestions pleas?

Thankyou

Are you showing all hidden files and folder in Windows Explorer, tools,
folder options? Extend.dat is at C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

Yes, showing all files & folders & system files.
But file search still returns no trace of either file.

Thanks

are you using the advanced search option to search hidden files and folders?
it's settings are independent of the tools, options settings.

That's coming from an old Office 2000 add-in. Follow
the instructions in this
Knowledge Base article to get rid of the error message
