SBS2003 with OL2003 error: sbcmsync.dll

Just migrated users from a workgroup setting to a domain
model with SBS2003 and OL2003 for their email clients
(were using OL Express). On some workstations (the ones
that were using XP Prof. to start with) I am getting an
error everytime the user starts up OL:

'C:\documents and settings\%username%\application
data\microsoft\addins\c:\program files\microsoft
office\office\sbcmsync.dll' is not a valid office add-in.

I've followed all the Q articles that reference this, as
well as some hints around the web. I'm open to any
suggestions at this time...it's more of an annoyance than
anything else because once the program is up it works
fine.

did you delete extend.dat? it's the small business contact manager addin for
older outlook versions.

outlook sync add-in, extend.dat, or the registry key that
it references on any of the systems. Had I found it, I
would have deleted the extend.dat file. Should I get this
file and add it to the user profiles?

no... outlook creates it for you. it's a hidden file - you'll need to use
the advanced search options. it's at C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

is the addin listed at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins?

also, look for extend.dat at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook (your pst or ost should be in
this location) - i may have gotten the locations wrong.
