Scaling a state machine diagram without text and connecting lines going wonkers

I am doing a state machine diagram that has several sub parts. On each page
for one of the sub state machines I want a small diagram of the global state
machine. When I copy it original, group it and scale it, the text and
connecting links all have to be readjusted to fit.

How do I all the parts of the diagram to just scale?

Any help would be appreciated.
