Scan a form in entirety and then edit in word

I have tried scanning a form that i use regularly and placed it in a word document. I can not edit this scanned image in any way. I am using Office XP. If I use Office document imaging it scans the document but it sends text only to my word document and all formatting is lost. Can I scan a (pre-printed) form in entirety allowing staff to complete/fill in details on screen and then print out onto the official pre-printed form????

Hi Kerry,

No not exactly. :)

As you found, you can either use the image or you can extract the
text.

You could scan the form as an image rather than OCR, place it in the
Header/Footer layer, and then use one of the methods outlined in the
following article to create the areas that need to be filled in:

I suggest you use Word Form Fields and protect the document. This was
you can supply default text and use Tab and Shift + Tab to navigate
the form fields.
