Hi Shirley,
Unless you want to convert the document into text, which btw usually
doesn't not convert identical to the original, then locate your Text
Box tool on the drawing toolbar and create text boxes for the areas
you need to fill in.
Here's what you need to do:
- Select the image and change the text wrapping to "Behind text"
- Create your first text box
- Right-click the text box and select "Format Text Box"
- On the Colors and Lines tab set the Color to "No Fill" and the Line
Color to "No Line"
- Select OK
- Right-click the text box again and select "Set AutoShape Defaults"
so subsequent text boxes will be inserted with no line and a
transparent background.
If you need to move the text box and by-pass the grid then hold your
Alt key while dragging the text box.

I need to scan a document into word so that I can then type on the
lines (it an employee evaluation form). Is there a way that I can do
this? I can scan the doc into word, but word treats it as a graphic
and I can't type on the lines. Would appreciate any advice.
