scan hand written doc to Pub 2002

I have to insert a long hand-written (it is printed, not cursive)
notice to Publisher. I need to be able to edit it so it flows to next
columns, etc. OCR lets me edit, but attempts to convert the hand
written text to fonts. What a mess.
Is there a workaround?

You want to scan in a handwritten document and still be able to edit it but
not convert it to a font. You are asking too much. The closes thing to that
is to scan it in as a picture and cut the picture apart to fit the available
space.

Your scanned document is a picture, if you want to preserve the integrity of the
text treat it as a picture. Insert the document, copy. Crop up until it fits the
space. In the next space, paste, crop down to where you left off in the first
insert. And so on...
