Scan Legal Form to Word then Type in Data

When I scan a legal document to Word, using an Epson 2450 ( in
Smart Panel I use scan to Application, but I have tried scan to file as well),
I am unable to type anything into the blank spaces. It only allows typing into
the areas where text already appears. I can insert a text box, but then a box
appears around the entry, and it messes up the underlining.

I've tried every option, and I wonder if I need to pursue this in the scanner
newsgroups or if there's a setting in Word that I'm overlooking. Thanks.

You can get rid of the border around the text box:

Select the text box (so the box is highlighted, and there is no cursor
inside the box).

Right-click on the gray selection area around the box and select
"Format Text Box."

Under Line, set the Color to "No Line".

Ok, thanks. I've also found that using an OCR I can scan a document
and then type in the entries, so it was a scanner problem, not a Word
problem.
