scan pc's for their Office 97 serial number

I've recently taken over the IT admin role for our office and I need to scan
everyone's PC to see if they have office 97 on them and what serial number
they are using, then comapre that to the keys that we have purchased. If the
keys in the registry are encrypted in some way, at least I'd be able to tell
how many pc's, and which ones, have office 97 and be able to comapre that to
the number of licenses.

I have a tool which can look in the registry at various locations and output
the contents of the those keys to a file that I am using for other software
auditing purposes but for it to work with Office 97 I'd need to tell it where
to look in the registry. I've currently placed this in a startup script
everyone runs.

However the newest version does not read Office 97 keys. The OP would have
to download version 1.51 of Keyfinder.

KF ver. 2.01 will find Office XP and later keys and KF ver. 1.51 will find
Office up to and including Office 2003 keys.
