Scanner "Acquire Text" options in File Menu

Dave

I have Word 2000 and a Canon LIDE 50 scanner. When I installed the scanner's
software (including document-to-text software), two options appeared at the
bottom of Microsoft Word's File Menu: Acquire Text... and Acquire Text
Settings...

I have uninstalled the document reading software, because I don't need it.
The two options remain in Word's File Menu, and of course, they do nothing.
But I'm having trouble removing those options.

I hate when uninstallations leave crap lying around. Any suggestions?

Open Tools | Customize and drag the commands from the menu. If they
reappear, check Word's Startup folder (or the Office Startup folder) for an
add-in that is adding them.

Just tried it - didn't work. I just found out that the application inserting
those options is OmniPage SE. It's an OCR scanning program that came with
the scanner.

I believe I can remove the options through OmniPage, I just don't know
where...

In my version of Omnipage, the Tools/Options/DirectOCR tab allows you to
unregister the various Office apps.
