scanner photo in Office 2007

Are there any plans to put the scanner and photo options into Office 2007? I
would not have purchased it If I had known that it did not support scanning
and photos.

Hi Lynn,

Many 3rd party scanner products can support scanning into the Office apps on their own. For Office 2007 you can scan using the MS
Office 'scan from camera' feature still in MS Office Clipart Organizer and then use those pictures (saved to disk) in the Office
apps.

The Insert from Scanner feature was unreliable in Word 2007 so was removed, plus inserting a picture or link to a picture from your
hard drive is usually a better solution in case you need to again access the picture, but you may be able to use the old feature
directly in Word 2007, but at your own risk :) if you still have a prior version of Word available. In Word 2003 create a *new*
'From Scanner' toolbar from Tools=>Customize and choose it's location as the current document.

Add the Insert from Scanner or Camera command to that toolbar and use File=>Save as to save the file as Word template. You can then
locate that template as a Word 2007 global template or you can use open the document in Word 2007 and in the Add-Ins tab you should
have the button on the toolbar. You may have to experiment with the settings and use 'Custom Insert'
