Scanning accurately to Word

L

Lamar Hunt

When I scan a document, e.g. a letter and convert it to word the product is
distorted, misshapen. All of the data is there, but not in the original
shape and proportion. Why?

Are you sure that you came to visit the proper group?
I'd rather assume that you'd better ask in a group for *Word* as this
here is OneNote, a rather different product.

The problem may com from both ends:
a) Word
b) the OCR (optical character reading) software you are using for
converting the graphical data from the scan into characters.
There's huge differences in the way OCR software (like FineReader,
TextBridge, Omnipage et al.) are working.
Therefore when asking in the Word newsgroup also include the
information on which OCR software you are using.

Good luck
