Scanning device error

Confused

I keep getting a scanning device error saying it is not connected and to
retry. I can sometimes see 15 errors saying the same thing when I turn
computer on. The only scanning device I know I have is with my all in one
printer which I only turn on if I need to print something. This is a new
error to me. I just recently loaded Office 2003 and that is when the error
began showing up. Help.
