Scanning documents as Word files

Jo

Hi, I am a new user to Office 2007 and have the Professional academic suite
and I am trying to scan documents into word files. A message comes up on the
Lexmark All in One Centre advising "An OCR application is provided for you on
your CD in the OCR folder".

I am unable to locate this folder and when I go online, I am tole to access
Microsoft Office tools and I will find Microsoft Office Document Imaging, but
I am unable to locate this.

Can anyone please help with how I scan documents to word? Is this a program
I have to download/purchase or am I missing something?
Cheers

You need the lexmark CD, and then install the OCR package from that -
or purchase any other OCR program

There are two Office 2007 Tools, that are not installed by default, that you
should install. They are
Microsoft Office Document Imaging
Microsoft Office Document Scanning.

In Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs locate and select Microsoft Office
2007. Click on Change and then select Add or Remove Features and then click
on the Plus sign next to Office Tools. For the Office Tools that you want
to install, select Run on My Computer and then OK {you can install multiple
tools or Office features at one time}.

If you are using Vista, the Control Panel may differ from the Windows XP I
am using; but the process is the same.
