Scanning Multiple pages directly into Microsoft Word

I have an HP ScanJet 8290 with an automatic feeder. Before I installed XP I
was able to scan stacks of papers directly into word with no problem.
However ever since I have installed XP I get a prompt to scan "next page"
every single page. This is extrememly time consuming and I am racking my
brain on how to make that go away. I have searched all of Microsoft.com and
HP.com for any help but found nothing. I don't not want to use the scanner
software because this causes extra steps and I never needed to do it before.
I have also tried to chance the settings in the scanner software but found
nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could be as simple as updating your scanner driver. There is an utility on the HP
site with a September 2004 timestamp... Might help
