scanning photos for powerpoint presentation

O

O'Ryan

This is the first Power point presentation I've ever done. I'm
scanning a truck load of photos to be shown during a wedding
reception, to highlight the brides life before, the grooms life before
and then their life together. No music necessary just a compilation of
photos with fun transitions and backgrounds.

Regarding scanning, since there are so many picutres, what resolution
should I scan them at to allow the best images to be shown. In print
it's 300dpi, but what about a powerpoint presentation.

Any help to this first timer would be most appreciated.

Work out what resolution your computer and video projector will use.
Usually it's 1024x768 but might be something else (800x600 for example)

That's the size you want your full-screen images to be; images that will be
smaller than full screen in PPT should be proportionally smaller files/fewer
pixels.

You may find it simplest to scan at higher resolutions, then downsample to the
needed size in Photoshop or the like. The results might be a bit better this
way as well.
