i got a message that my pst file was corrupt and to run scanpst. scanpst
detected errors. when i click on "repair" it runs for a few seconds and
then
freezes up ("not responding"). any ideas what to do?
If this happened to me, the first thing I'd do is to start SCANPST and then
walk away for a while to see if the "not responding" resolves itself in an
hour or two. The next thing I'd do is to run CHKDSK on the hard drive and
then try SCANPST again. I'd also try using a minimum login (hold Shift down
while you log in) so none of the programs usually run at login are running
when I run SCANPST. If that didn't work, I'd boot Windows in safe mode and
try SCANPST again. If none of that worked, I'd locate a commercial PST
scanner.
