Schedule and receive timing problem

R

Robert Floyd

In an effort to get mail more frequently, I edited the Send & Receive All
schedule to run every five minutes. It would run, but not connect to either
mail server (no entries in the error log). When I changed the interval back
to 10 minutes, it works correctly.

Is there a minimum schedule interval (I hope not)? Any insights on how to
troubleshoot this further?

There is no minimum interval built into entourage (apart from the fact that
the setting is in whole minutes, so the lowest setting you can make is 1
minute).

It is possible that your ISP has a minimum setting to reduce the load on
it's servers, but in that case I would expect to see an entry in the error
log.

Not sure what is preventing it from working - I have used a 2 minute
connection schedule with one server for a long time, and have four different
schedules firing every minute to run applescripts - all run no problem.

If you open the schedules window, you will see a column that shows when the
schedule last ran. If that getting incremented every 5 minutes? If not, the
schedule isn't actually running. I have very occasionally seen a schedule
stop for no reason, and it only starts again when it is manually run, then
it continues to tick away regular as clockwork 'on schedule' again.
