When using the Earned Value Schedule Indicators table, MS
Project 2002 appears to calculate the Task level SPI's
and SV's correctly, but does not correctly calculate the
Summary Level SPI and SV for those Tasks. It actually
appears that the Summary total for BCWP is summed-up OK,
but BCWS misses summing up one (or more?) of the Task
BCWS, and thus the SV and SPI calculation for the Summary
is incorrect.
Help!?

If you have added tasks or modified task baselines after the baseline has
been set, the summary baseline will not reflect those changes. This is by
design.

So, I'm not clear why it would be designed this way. If
a Task is added and then baselined, what should it not be
included in the summary baseline?

This way summary task can be baselined separately. Usually you want to keep
your baseline and adding new tasks should not change it.
