Schedule to delete junk mail

I'm running Office 2004. I have a schedule setup to delete messages in
my Deleted Items folder after 20 days. I'd like to keep that timing,
but add a schedule to delete junk mail in the Deleted Items folder
after 2 days.

My original schedule for deleting all mail in the Deleted Items folder
works fine. I have now added a new schedule to the list whos action is
to Delete Junk Mail in Deleted Items folder every 2 days. It is enabled
and set to run upon Quit.

Problem is it doesn't remove junk before the 20 days are up and the
other schedule kicks in. What am I missing?

I'm not sure why it is not working.

In the Junk Mail window there is an option to delete mail in xx days. If you
leave your junk messages in the junk folder then this should work for you.

Thanks for the reply. I delete messages from the Junk folder after I
read them. This is my process for double checking they are indeed junk.

I don't want to schedule a delete from the Junk folder because I may
not have had a chance to scan the messages before the scheduled
deletion.

Besides, I hate it when I can't get an application to work as I know it
should.

Just curious, will a scheduled action work if the messages have been
previously handled by a Rule?

TX.
