We are running Outlook 2002 (10.5709.4219) SP-2 on XP Prof. SP1. Very often,
scheduled meetings do not show up as tentative on the calendar of invitees,
if these persons have not opened the meeting request mail first. Now, just
everybody is aching under lots of mails in the inbox nowadays. Thus
naturally, you want to consult your calendar first to find out whether you
have been summoned to some meeting scheduled next day, instead of searching
around in your inbox for possible invitation mails. So if the meeting does
not show up on your calendar as tentative because you are drowing in lots of
mails and just had not had a chance to read or preview exactly that
invitation mail hidden in between, you are in deep trouble with both the
inviting person and your boss.
I hope anyone can find a fix or useful workaround to this (a workaround to
by default let Outlook acknowledge all meeting requests is not a very prudent
solution for teamwork co-ordination).
With the current situation as is, Outlook is impacting user's dependability
reputation.
Help greatly appreciated - Regards - Robert
