Scheduled Work

Hey

I've noticed that with Adminstrative projects you can schedule future
non-working time, is there a way in PWA for the team members to be able to
enter their own future Scheduled Work rather than just their Actual Work, or
does this have to be done in Project Pro by the Project Manager?

Cheers

If a resource is assigned as a team member to an administrative project,
he/she can click the "Notify your manager of time you will not be available
for project work" link in the sidepane on the left side of the View my tasks
page. This will allow the resource to enter and submit future planned
nonworking time, such as vacation. Hope this helps.

Hey Dale

Thanks for the prompt reply,

I understand about using the 'notify your manager of time you will not be
available for work' and we plan to use this, what I am wanting to get setup
is similar to the 'nofify your manager...' but it applies to working time, in
our situation team members generally schedule their own work - it is not set
by the project manager, so letting the team members enter their own planned
work and then later enter actual work is where we are trying to go with PWA...

Am I making sense?

Oops! I just reread your original message and misunderstood your question.
To answer your question, have you considered asking your team members to use
the Create a new task feature on their View my tasks page? This feature
would allow a team member to propose a new task, enter a planned start date,
and an estimated amount of work on the task. Just a thought. Perhaps the
others will have some ideas, too.
