Scheduling resources or groups of resources

Hi, I'm new at using project 2007. We are a small s/w development company
with usually around 10 jobs going at one time, aprox each week a new job
begins and an old one ends. I have 4 departments that usually are involved in
each job (IT,flash development,illustration,audio/video) I would like to see
each departments load for the complete jobs in house. Currently I am
duplicating my work by making 4 departmental schedules by cutting and
pasting. Is there a way to extract departmental work from each project and
combine that information together so that I can see the load.

Hi,
There is nothing to extract, to the contrary, you will have to consolidate
and group.
First, each project must be linked to a resource pool.
See help on Resource Sharig.
How do you define your resources? Individual people or the groups?
If the groups are your resources, the resource usage view on the resoruce
pool is what you look for.
If you are assigning the tasks to individuals, you will have to tell Project
in the Pool's resource sheet what grouop they belong to.
Then in the resource usage view group by resource group.

Thank-You very much I want to assign individuals to specific tasks so I'll read the help sections on resource sharing I'll group them together and see how I get along.
