Scheduling tasks when a resource is not available

Hi
Just a quick question. If you have 2 or more resources on a task, does
project assume that only 1 person is required to complete the task? I have
some tasks where multiple people are listed as resources as they all have to
approve a deliverable etc. Project is allowing these task to finish on a day
when one of the resources is on leave. Is there any way of preventing this as
it is giving unrealistic finish dates?
Thanks
Ange

The Resource away for the day, do they have that day marked as non-working
in their Calendar? If so, then select Window, Split in a Gantt View then in
the Task form in the lower pane, right-mouse-click and select Resource
Schedule. It may be that this resource finishes before the others as they
have higher units and/or less work.

Hi Rod
Thanks for your response.
The resource calendar is up to date. When I select the Resource Schedule,
Resource A, the resource that is away, has 0 hours work to complete while
Resource B, the other resource, has to complete all of the work. If I
manually change this to reflect that they both must complete some of the
work, it fixes the problem and the task finishes when Resource A has returned
from leave.
My question is: Is this the only way to fix the problem? Is project always
going to give the work to the person that is not away? Or have I got a
feature turned on or off that is affecting this functionality?
Thanks
Ange

It is most likely that you made one or more edits to one of the resources
without understanding quite what the consequences were. When freshly
assigned, Resources start and finish at the same time.
