Scheduling work

I have a task that will take 6 days. I have a resource assigned to the
task although I am not sure whether they are assigned 100% so for
simplicity lets say they are! However that resource can take up to 3
weeks to complete the task.

What is the most accurate way to reflect this in MS Project?

TIA.

Hi Mustang94,

I'm going to make a few assumptions: when you say you have a task
that will "take 6 days" I assume you mean that the task requires 48
hours of work. I assume when you say the resource can take up to 3
weeks, that there is a deadline for the task 3 weeks out. If you
want to assign the resource at 100%, the duration of the task is 6
days, the work is 48 hours. Double click on the task and on the
Advanced tab of the Task Information form set the deadline of the 3
weeks out date.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

In addition to Julie's comments, you need to clarify - do you mean the work
CAN take 3 weeks or do you mean it WILL take 3 weeks? There's a difference.
