MY OFFICE 2000 HAS A SCRATCH IN IT AND WILL NOT INSTALL ON
MY NEW COMPUTER. HOW DO I GET A NEW DISK OR WHAT CAN I DO
I ALREDY OWN THE UPGRADE FOR OFFICE XP BUT I NEED TO
INSTALL THIS VERSION FIRST

1. Turn off the Caps Lock. It's considered shouting and rude on Usenet.

2. If you have a legal, valid Product Key for Office 2K, you simply need to
borrow one from a friend and use your PK to install it. Nothing on any MS
Product CD ties it to a specific Key.

Install the Upgrade, then insert the 2000 CD when XP install searches for a
qualifying product;
as long as the scratch isn't too bad, XP should install OK.
If XP won't accept the CD, contact Microsoft for a replacement CD; here are
instructions on their web site.
