Screen Flashing Problems w/Office 2003

I just installed Office 2003 today, and since the install
my computer has been acting up. It will freeze up at odd
times and at times the screen will flash repeatedly from
a black, blank screen to normal. This flashing will last
over a minute at times of constant flashing. I have
installed all the updates and am running XP Pro. Any
suggestions, or should I go back to Office XP????

How old is the monitor and have you updated your video card drivers lately?

My computer is a laptop that is about 1.5 years old, and
I just updated the drivers, so that's not the problem. I
rebooted to the last known good configuaration option,
and there was some funky stuff going on with my
resolution (I could not get the screen to the right
size). I then restarted normally and have had no further
problems. Do you think this was just a coincidence? I
never had any problems of this sort before I loaded
Office 2003, and they began directly after I did.

Of course, as soon as I just posted, it started again.
Flashing almost regularly.
