Screen flicker opening a table

Hello,

Got a strange problem opening a table in Access 2003. The scren flicker for
a long time the system gets slow and Access takes about 50% of the machine.
The problem is gone in safe mode, so it looks like a video (driver) problem
but this problem only occurs in Access (latest updates installed) and this
ATI mobility radeon 9000 driver (6.13.10.6280) seems to be up-to-date too.
Anybody any idea how to fix this?
