How can I get word documents to appear full screen like they do on a PC or like my Excel files appear on my Mac

It isn't clear what you mean by "full screen"... Windowing in the Mac OS is
different from how its handled by the Windows OS, but Mac Word windows can
be resized in exactly the same way as Mac Excel windows.

Without something a good deal more descriptive what you're trying to attain
& what's preventing you from doing so it's difficult to suggest any specific
solution. Have a look at Mac Help on the topic: Moving and resizing windows.

If that doesn't provide the answers you need, reply with details about what
the exact nature of the problem is. Remember, nobody here can see your
display or read your mind :)
