this is sort of a difficult problem to explain...

am working all the way over in columns BT and so i scroll to that area in the spreadsheet, click on a cell, and the instant i start typing, the screen jumps back to row 1 column A, and as soon as i am finished entering data and press enter, it jumps back to column BT row 10 or whatever i am on. so, i can only see the column I'm working in while I'm not typing. while I'm typing, I'm always jumped back to the beginning of the sheet.

scroll lock is not highlighted at the bottom of the page and I've tried to explore all the preferences options to see if there is something obvious that is set to do this, but i cant figure out what I've done. i have had the computer since this december and use excel all the time. usually this isn't a problem, and it happened once before and went away, but I have no idea what I did to fix it that time, it just stopped doing it after I quit excel and got back, but now it persists even when I quit and close everything.

I can't reproduce it - does it happen if you copy your data to a new
workbook (Select All, Copy and Paste)?

I am having the same issue. In response to JE McGimpsey, if I copy to a new
workbook it goes away.
