This issue has happened to two users. It seems like it's *probably* the same
issue, although it manifests differently on two PCs in two different Office
programs.
So ...
OS: XP Pro SP2, fully patched
Office: 2002
Hardware: HP dc7600, Pentium D 3.4Ghz, 1G RAM
(yes, both effected PCs are the same age, model, and configuration)
Problem1:
Molly - updated a Word 2002 document, and when she pushed the print
button (before saving), all characters for every sentence "smished" on top of
each other. The document both printed and appeared on her screen this way.
However, when she saved it and opened it on another PC (including the other
HP dc7600), everything was fine.
Cori - updated an Excel 2002 spreadsheet, and when she pushed the print
button (before saving), her boxes (not borders, but the actual graphic boxes)
all migrated to different columns. Again, when she saved the spreadsheet and
opened it on another PC (including the other HP dc7600), everything was fine.
I tried to find this in the forums and newsgroups. However, I can't seem to
find "smish" anywhere ;-) Besides that, though, all the search terms I could
think of also were ineffective.
Thank you in advance for your assistance,
