screen resolution changes when outlook is opened

Hope someone can help. I have an XP Pro sp2 pc with 4 users. When
one user
clicks the Outlook 2003 icon, the icon changes to the 2000 icon and
then the
display properties change to color settings of 8 bit!
I tried to repair and the repair failed, tried to copy other user
shortcut
to program--doesn't work, tried a system restore--sytem will not
restore to
earlier time. The video drivers are current.
Any other suggestions??

I am not an expert but
I think what might be left is
the video shadow memory.

I don't know what the registry
tweak is but I think a site like
winguides can have the settings,
if any.

Also, did you make an observation
when you disabled the themes service?

One more thing, I recall having a motherboard with a cmos setting the size of video shadow. So check your bios as well......

It sounds like someone has changed the properties of the shortcut so as
to "enable" compatibility mode and run in 256 colors. You may r-click
the Shortcut, select properties, Compatibility tab and UNcheck
everything. OR in Outlook click Help, Detect and Repair, which should
fix all the shortcuts.
