Screen resolution problem

J

JOHNSON STEVE

I have just bought a notebook with a screen resolution of 1680x1050 running
XP Home. When I view my website (Frontpage 2000) in 'preview' it looks fine
but if I 'preview in browser' all the gifs and jpegs go blocky. I have tried
disabling the automatic image resizing in Internet Options but this doesn't
make a difference. It is not a resolution problem either as the same thing
happens at 1024x768 and 800x600.

Everthing is OK on my old PC @ 1152x864 but I am concerned about visitors to
my site who are using notebooks having the same problem.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Have you checked that your graphic card has updated
drivers, or checked ur site from a another laptop?

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card.

I think the problem is with explorer 6. If I use NN7 it's fine. I can't find
a newer patch than SP1 which I have already.

I will check using another though and see what happens.

Thanks

Steve

so what is the problem - does this really have anything to do with Frontpage?
There have always been issues of pages displaying slightly differently in
different browsers.....but screen resolution is a system-wide thing not related
to whatever browser you use.

Also remember - not everyone has your exact system/browser/graphics card etc etc.
What the site looks like on your machine may very well different on another
user's machine.
