How do I take a screen shot in Word 2003 without the cursor/s vanishing when
I paste into my image editing program?

You'll need a third-party utility such as SnagIt:
http://www.techsmith.com/products/snagit/default.asp

I love it and it's worth the money. Plus there's a trial version
available too..
