Screen shots

I have posted a similar question before, but I cannot find the thread. I use screen shots in my Word documents a lot. I first print screen, paste it in Paint and cut what I want from the shot. I then paste that cut into Word. Since I have updated to 2003 I find I am constantly crashing and it is now becoming frustrating. It may not be the screen shots that is causing my problem, but I think this may be so. Can anyone help me solve this problem. Many thanks to all those who reply.

Where in the process is it crashing, and which program crashes?

(For what it's worth, I use a freeware tool when grabbing screenshots
(http://www.bayden.com/other/mezer.htm)... You just hit Windows+S and you
get to draw the rectangle you wish to copy.)

I am using Word 2003. It crashes on a Save. As the documents are about 20 pages and as I use screen shots a lot, I save every time I bring in a screen shot. I will follow up on the freeware tool. Thanks.

I paste from Paint also but I make sure I select Paste Special and Choose Picture for it uses much less memory and disk space. Are you doing this?
