screen size when playing back a presentation

I have a laptop, Windows XP, with a 15.4 inch screen. Problem is that when I
play a presentation back, it looks great on the screen, but is cropped on the
left side through the projector. I am guessing that the projector (NEC) does
not like the larger screen. I can adjust webpages to fit the projected
screen, but do not know how to get the Powerpoint to shrink in. Suggestions?

I am guessing you have a 15.4" widescreen display on your laptop. You need
to configure your computer to output at a standard 4x3 aspect ratio for the
projector. Go to START >> CONTROL PANEL >> DISPLAYS >> SETTINGS tab >>
change the slider to 1024x768 and all should be fine.
