Screenshot Cut Off At Right Margin

I've done something, can't remember what. In the past when I've taken
a screen shot and dragged it into a blank Word 2004 page, it has
appeared normally, ready to print.

Lately, though, dragging leads to a quarter inch or so of the right
side of the screen shot being cut off at the margin. What have I done?
What can I do? Thanks.

Hi Dave:

When you drag an image into Word, Word automatically re-sizes it to fit in
the available space (say, in a table cell, or between the document margins).

When the image arrives, it must be anchored to a paragraph (everything in a
Word document must be anchored to a paragraph: pages are descended from
paragraphs in Word, not paragraphs from pages).

So the style of the paragraph you are landing the picture on has an indent,
which is forcing the picture off the page.

You need to either remove the indent from the paragraph.

Preferrably by creating a "Graphics" style that has no indent and applying
that to paragraphs you want to hang grahics off. Alternatively, you can
remove the indent just from the affected paragraph, or from the style you
are using.

You will save a lot of time in Word by using Styles. Styles are simply the
names given to collections of formatting that we can re-use.

Cheers
