Script error in Microsoft Outlook prevents printing messages

R

ROYCE

When I try to print a message in Microsoft Outlook I get an error that says
"An error has occured on the script on this page" It says it is an
unspecified error on line 1344. it gives a URl of:
res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg. I have been unable to
correct the error. I would appreciate any help that any of you can give me. I
am using Microsoft Outlook with Windows XP.

I found the following on the "1344" script error with a Google search:

Removal of certain items will remove some registry keys.

Solution:
From a Win2000 machine export these files from the registry and import on
the machine with the print problem/script error. These work on both 2000 and
WinXP.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Hal,

I didn't totally understand what to do do. Do these keys need to be in the
registry or be removed from the registry?

These keys need to be added to the registry; the problem develops when the
keys are removed by "certain items".

Hal,

I finally got around to trying the fix that you suggested. Well, it worked.
I transferred the registry files from my laptop to my desktop and the fix
worked. Thanks for your help.

Hi Royce

I am having the exact same problem, but have no other machine to import
from. How did you get the fix to work, where do you import these files to.
Appreciate any info you can send

Thanks in Advance

Robert

Hello Robert,

Here is what I did to solve the problem. I made a copy of the information
that Hal sent me so that I would have something to look at while I looked
through the registry. I opened the registry by clicking on Start then Run and
typed in REGEDIT and clicked OK. The registry opended. I checked the files
that Hal sent and found two files that were missing. I went to my laptop and
found the files that were missing on my destop. I exported the two files to a
folder and then copied them to a CD. I then put the CD in my destop computer
and clicked on each file icon and this installed the two files in my
computer. This solved my problem.

Let me know if I can help any farther.
