I've recently upgraded form FrontPage 2002 to 2003.

When I view pages in 'Preview' I am now getting the following error message:

An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: Invalid Character
Code: 0
URL:
file:///C:/Program%20Files/Microsoft%20Office/OFFICE11/fpclass/animate.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
Yes/No

On several of my pages I have a Dynamic Effect: Drop in by word.which I
assume is creating this problem. This also occurs when creating anew page
with the same Dynamic Effect so not only with existing webs.

Everything worked fine with FrontPage 2002 so not sure what the problem is
in 2003.

I'd appreciate any advice that the Forum can give.

Nigel.

I don't know whether I would be the person, but if someone is to help,
please post the name as
http://.........../fpclass/animate.js
that is, as a reference to a page on the web

Perhaps a reference to the HTML page would also help

Are you asking for more information from me? If so, I'm afraid I don't
understand your question - I'm afraid I'm not a very techie person!

Hi Nigel,

If the web site is published to a server, then it has a web address. For
example in my signature below, the page is
http://ratec.actbus.net/index.html

This is what people need so that they can see what is (and is not) happening
and try to diagnose the problem

Cheers

Hi Trevor:

I have a personal and club website that I look after. Both look fine on the
web, it's only when editing/checking using FrontPage 2003 in the 'Preview'
pane that I'm having problems. Everything worked fine in FrontPage 2002.
Perhaps I should just uninstall 2003 and go back to the 2002 version?

Here are my sites:

http://www.micromaniacsclub.co.uk/

and

http://homepages.tesco.net/nigelowen

Thanks again for you help and advice.

Nigel.

Use Preview in Browser instead of Preview pane. That way you see how the
page will appear in a real browser, as well as being able to run JavaScript.
In my opinion FP2003, despite its idiosyncrasies, is a much better web
site/page editor than FP2002.
