Script needed for Access Page on web

I have created an access page, placed it on a browser for customers to
generate new requests to our area. Once the data has been entered, I want
the page to save the record to the database, close the page and display a
confirmation to the user that thanking them for the submission all in one
function. I have the code to close the page and send the thankyou and an
input button to save the information to the database but right now the
customer would need to click the button then the link to close the page and
send the confirmation. I can't figure out how to combine the two to have it
all happen with only one action from the person sending the request. Can
this be done?
