Hello all,

My Entourage database (21GB) is corrupt and keep crashing. Even restore from backup is not working........

So, I wish to create a new "Main identity" but would like to export all my personal folders stored locally (under My Computer) to MBOX files so I can re-import them later. The Entourage "Export" feature crash every time saying there is a problem with one of the email.

I also tried Barry's script that works fine but did not export any of the Personal Folders.
I can drag/drop each folders manually but I have over 500 of them and wondering if someone has a script to export folders/sub-folders from the Personal Folders section to MBOX?

Thanks,

Charles

Did you try Jolly Roger's script? It gets subfolders.

Export folders as MBOX files using a script

Regardless of what method you use to create an MBOX file, if there is
corruption in that folder it will fail to export. You will need to create
subfolders of the corrupted folder to use the divide and test those
messages. It can be a long and arduous process.

You mentioned...

Were these Time Machine backups? If yes, then you need to use a different
method to backup rather than the hourly method.

Using Time Machine to backup Entourage basics:

It's advised by the developers not to let Time Machine backup your Entourage
database. If the database is copied while being used, the backup could be
corrupt. You can set the Time Machine to exclude the Microsoft User Data
folder and create an iCal event to copy it over at night while not in use so
you get one backup daily in Time Machine.
