Scroll Lock?

T

twfmike

I'm running Excell 2004 for Mac, version 11.5, running on an Intel MacBook
under OS 10.5.4.
When I use the arrow keys on the keyboard, the screen scrolls across but the
cursor does not move from one cell to the next, which is very frustrating.
At the bottom of the sheet, there is a green button next to SCRL - I think
this means I have Scroll Lock on? How do I turn it off?? I can't find
anything in the help files.

Thank you

Hmmm... I've never figured out how to toggle scroll-lock with a laptop
keyboard - the full keyboard combo is usually SHIFT-F14, though I've
never had occasion to use or test it, that I can recall.

THis old KB article

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/118467

implies that trashing the settings file in Preferences will clear it as
well.

I feel a lot better now - I've been trying to figure this out on my MBP...
Gotten cramps in my fingers with every conceivable key/click combination I
can think of. I've also gone through the entire list of commands & can't
find anything that's even close. But if the OP managed to get it turned *on*
there must be a way to turn it *off*.

That's a pleasingly symmetrical conjecture. However, it's not supported
by any evidence that I know of...

You're starting to sound more like a politician every minute... I sure hope
you win the election so you'll have enough free time on your hands to come
back in here & get in to

Yeah, like Bob I also now have twisted, contorted, cramped and arthritic
fingers from trying to figure this out too. Yet, I also think it is
possible. Perhaps it should be escalated.
