Scrollbar in text control

Bob Howard

Hi,

Using A2K3, I have a textbox control with the Scroll Bars property set to
vertical ... but the scroll bar does not appear. I tried setting the Scroll
Bar Align property to Right (is initially defaulted to System), but that
didn't help.

The text box is used to capture input that will go into a "memo" field in
the database (it's not a bound field, however). When I enter the data, the
box does scroll, but only when I move down with the arrow key or press enter
(I also have the Enter Key Behavior proprty set to "New Line in field").

So where's the scrollbar??

If a textbox is too small, a scroll bar will not appear. Also, make sure the
scroll bar property is set to Yes.

Bob,

If the Left Margin, Right Margin, Bottom Margin or Top Margin
properties of the Text box are set to anything other than 0cm try
setting them back to 0cm.

Hi Bob,

The scroll will not appear until the data goes beyond the length of the box.
In other words, if you can type 6 lines visibly in the textbox until it gets
to the end, when you type the seventh, it will push down and then the scroll
bar appears. otherwise, if the data is displayed in the textbox before you
run out of room, there is no reason to have to scroll to see the data.

You're welcome, glad I could help!
