Scrolling in Windows XP

My office moved from Word 2000 to Word XP. One of the things that has changed
is the automatic scrolling--ie, when you're reading a document, you right
click it and it scrolls automatically, and you can set how fast or slow it
goes. When I do this now, it goes way too fast--even at the slowest speed,
and I'm not a slow reader--and I don't get the little square in the scroll
bar that marks the midpoint of the document. I've tried looking through
options and can't find anything to change it. My job requires reading through
long documents, and I've found this feature very useful.

Thanks,

Hi

This setting is not a Word setting: it's a mouse setting. Not all mouses can
even do what you describe. Use the Control Panel's mouse settings to adjust
how it works.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Shauna. Actually, it's not when I right-click the mouse, it's when I
click the roller. I couldn't find the setting in Control Panel, but I guess
you're right--that's where it ought to be. It now moves like it does when
scrolling web pages. I used to be able to control the speed in Word but can't
now.
