Scrolling issue

C

Charles J. Rice

I have created a large spreadsheet with many worksheets (12). If I have all
of the cells exposed (unhidden) in the first worksheet (main), the
spreadsheet will not scroll. I can select a cell and use the down arrow to
scroll through the cells, but the screen continues stuck on the first 20 or
so rows. If I set the auto filters and select something that is in a cell
not on the first screen, it will jump to that screen and will scroll.

This seems to be affecting only the primary worksheet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...this reflects approximately 750
manhours of work and yes it is backed up but the back up has the same issue.

Are the panes frozen? Check the windows menu.

Alternatively, I know that in Windoze there's a scroll lock function.
Does this exist in Mac? I don't know as a) I'm not at my Mac; and b) I
never use it anyway.

Anyway, have a look to see if that is the problem.

Yes the scroll lock also exists in Mac Excel. It can be turned on/off via a
combination on the keyboard: shift+F14
You can check it by the green light at the bottom of the screen.

Yes and No the panes are frozen. I have auto filters set. If I select using
the auto filters a cell which is not on the first screen, the scrolling
works fine. Or if I hide the first screen of rows I can scroll.

Yes, I found that somehow the freeze panes option under the Window tab had
been activated...thanks
